Veggieburger Pie
This is a savory pie, like Shepherd's Pie, but for vegetarians.
1 package of Morningstar Farms Grillers Burger Style Crumbles
(found in the frozen food section) or any veggie ground "beef"
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup ketchup
1 teaspoon mustard
1 teaspoon Mrs. Dash, garlic powder, meat tenderizer, or other powdered seasoning
1 Tablespoon vegetable oil
A pie pan
1 and 1/2 cups milk
2 Tablespoons flour
1 egg
Add oil to pan over medium-high heat. Fry the frozen veggie burger right out of the package frozen, or let it thaw first, whatever. Throw in the onions and fry them with the burger until they at least look partially cooked. Turn off heat, mix in ketchup, mustard, Mrs. Dash.
Meanwhile, preheat oven to 350 degrees and mix milk, flour, and egg in a small bowl ( I just use my measuring cup). Grease pie pan, or just use a non-stick one. Pour veggie meat mixture into the pie pan. Then pour flour/egg/milk stuff over the veggie meat. Spread it around if it isn't even. Put in the oven at 350 for 25 to 30 minutes. Serves 2 with some leftovers.
