Crescent Roll Pizza
This "pizza" has been around in the Midwest since the invention of the crescent roll. Perfect for lunch meetings.
2 packages crescent rolls
8 ounces cream cheese or any soft, spreadable cheese, unwrapped and brought to room temperature
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 teaspoon of garlic salt
Vegetables of your choice, here are some possibilities:
1 tomato, diced
1 can of sliced black olives, drained
1 cup of fresh broccoli, chopped
1 cup of fresh cauliflower, chopped
1 cup of diced carrots
1/2 cup chopped radishes
1 cup chopped zucchini
1/2 cup chopped green onion
For the top:
6 to 8 ounces of shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Preparation:
Open crescent rolls and lay flat on a 10" x 15" cookie pan to form the pizza crust. Bake according to package directions, then let cool completely once done. Mix the cream cheese, mayonnaise, and garlic powder. Spread thinly on pizza crust.
Now add the vegetables, which can be piled high or thin, your choice. Finally, top with the shredded cheddar cheese. Cut into squares and serve.
